The joy in giving

?The year is coming to an end. Time sure does fly without us realizing it. I had an okay christmas, didn't get any presents though but instead I gave my niece and nephews presents. There is so much joy in watching them tearing up the wrapping paper and get all excited in getting their presents. I guess seeing the kids happy and full of excitement and joy made me feel that sometimes we don't have to receive to feel happy. There is the same amount of joy in giving and also in receiving. I like it when I think this way because it's a sign of maturity, a sign that I am preparing myself for the real world.

A rebuttal

This post is written in reference of my very first post here. My very first blog was about the beauty of the iPhone.

Sigh..okay already! You win! It sucks. I can’t really say that for sure but I was being shallow whilst writing my first post. I was smitten by it because it has the touch screen functionality – I probably have some fetish about touch screens. I don’t need an iPhone to make me happy, I already have my Motorola RAZR V3i which I had for almost a year or two. It works fine and I’m very happy with it.

I guess my final say is if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!

Adidas Stan Smith

I just bought a new shoe after having my adidas sneakers for almost four years. ..Yes, it does last that long. I bought the Adidas Stan Smith original.

I decided to google who Stan Smith is and why would Adidas name a shoe after him. He must really be some bigshot living it large.

I found this from where else but wikipedia.

Stan Smith was an American tennis star of the 1960's and 70's. Adidas approached him to endorse of the Haillet shoe in 1971.

The shoe, usually made with a leather upper, has a simple design and unlike most of the adidas range has no external stripes. Instead there are three rows of perforations in the same pattern (I love the look of them ^^)

I guess that is all for now because now that I know who Stan Smith is I could get on with my life.

Look at what super immature pizza-face broke mommy's boy git and little fab has to say

My brother said the meanest thing to me last week.

*Guys will only go out with you for your money*

---STAB---------------> HEART & wait…..Fuck you!

Damn…that was hot! His words were so harsh (to me) that I felt like I was stabbed by a super sharp shiny brand new authentic super samurai (if there is one)

I guess that does prove it…boys will always be boys but in my brothers’ case, he’s a super immature pizza face mommy’s boy who is broke git.

*say what you want Gary, I’ll just ignore that and wait for an apology which I think I will get…hmmm……..NEVER?*

So my final say is: Gary, fuck you! (ewwww….puh-lease, not in an incest way but in a I hate you-get out of here way)

This too shall pass

I was reminiscing (for a little bit) about my past and then I suddenly remembered this quote that my middle school teacher said to me

‘This too shall pass’

That little phrase changed everything from then onwards because whenever I messed something up I just tell myself that it will pass, hopefully soon.

I hope you will use this little phrase or quote in your everyday living too. It helped me and I hope it can help you too.

*Remember folks  whatever it is, it will soon pass. ‘This too shall pass’

God bless Ms.Ling’s heart

Speedcycler

I found out Speedcycler and decided to invest my $2 on it. I hope it can turn out to be a wise investment. I've been reading around and this site does pay so I'm going to see and experience it for myself...besides, even if it doesn't pay, it's not that big deal of a loss.

*fingers crossed*

the ying & yang of life

hi. I have two things to post. One of them is good and happy while the other one is the total opposite. Let's get cranking then.

I am over here in Johor living in a 'felda' or one of those rubber/palm tree estate. It's pretty nice here. We drove all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Johor. The car was packed with all that luggage. It was very tiring but the view is nice :)

We went to the night market in Segamat and we bought some indian snack delicacies. It was still hot when we bought it and it was good. We also bought fruits, they looked very fresh and appetizing to the extent that you cannot pass one of the fruit stalls without buying anything. I would say that most of the things there are pretty cheap and that is a big plus for a thrifty shopper like me.

I don't know where we're going tomorrow but I sure do hope that we go some place interesting. I would love to go to the big aquarium over in KL - Aquaria but we're only going to the big city after the 10th

now comes the bad part.............

I failed my 'Malaysian Legal System' - D & my pointer was only 2.6 which makes my average just at 2.8 something. I don't think I can go into law this way.

I am very sad. It was my fault anyway for taking the subject so lightly. I am just disappointed. I feel like killing myself...but obviously I won't do that because I guess I still think that there is a way out in everything that we do. I cannot describe in words how disappointed I am. I want to cry...badly...but I know crying won't solve things.

I am lost for words. I just wish that I could somehow bring this feeling of guilt on to the next semester so I won't procastinate on my studies. I think the problem with me now is I procastinate things. I seriously hope I can change in the future.

I feel like at this point my heart is stabbed with a knife. I feel so useless, worthless.

I am such a disappointment. damn...

Concrete Jungle

I'll be going to the big city tomorrow, the metropolis. It's pretty exciting. well..actually, We'll go to other states first as the hotels are fully booked and we will only be going to the 'big one' after the 10th.

concrete jungle...here I come. *laughs* but seriously...why go to the concrete jungle when you can enjoy the real thing back at home. We're going on a holiday - that's why. It's the 'visit Malaysia year' but then again on the other hand, we wouldn't go for a holiday overseas anyway. hehehe. That would be too costly.

I am excited for the trip tomorrow but at the same time I loathe the idea of going for a trip. I'd rather stay at home and go visit my father or something.

note to self : Be adventurous and always have a positive outlook on things.

cheater alert

He has cheated on her twice now and still not knowing if he is still 'on' with the second one. I hope the third time he cheats, she will be able to just walk away instead of dwelling under his shadow. Deep down, I hope he cheats again so she can be free.

Well...I'm not going to judge her. This is probably what she wants. Who am I to interfere with her life anyway. I just want her to be happy and if she is happy living this way - so be it. It hurts but if this is what she wants then I would just have to hold back all my hatred towards him and just act dumb, act stupid like nothing is going on...but to be frank, I am done with acting stupid and all. I am sick of playing games and pretending I don't know nothing and that everything is fine and dandy. I am through with that.

phew.. I better stop here. Okay, so writing things down is much more easier than actually telling them verbally. I'm not going to tell them, I will just let them do what they want to do.

damn..I seriously wish he would cheat on her again. (oh no, I am being very insensitive and cruel)

That's Pulau Batu Putih for you - not Pedra Branca

You've probably heard the event going on between Malaysia and Singapore on their claim on the stated island. It's not really an island actually, it's an outcrop of rocks but most importantly it belongs to Malaysia. I would be devastated if the decision reached by the international court of justice sides Singapore.

I won't get more into this though as the thought of losing a piece of us (by us I mean Malaysian as a whole). We'll just see what the outcome of it is.

We've got 8 crazy nights

I have always liked Adam Sandler. I think he's a very talented person. He can sing, acts really well and he's also very proud of being a jewish.

I recently watched eight crazy nights AGAIN. I love it so much.

I love the musics in this animated film. I thought they were nice, catchy tunes. I especially love 'Davey's song' and 'technical foul'

Check the soundtrack out. It only has 8 songs but they are all superb songs. It's worth every penny.

This animated film is one of the best out there....sure, it might be a little bit old but it still is one of the best. I would give it 9 out of 10. 10 is such a high mark to give...I mean, nothing is ever perfect...right?

England has left the building

Croatia 3 : England 2
-The defeat of the mighty three lions-
That was the result from the crucial match last night. I thought England was going to qualify, I thought that they had the perfect chance seeing as Russia lost in their game against Israel which means England has to at least get a draw in order to qualify for Euro 08.

Paul Robinson fell out with manager McCLaren and wasn't even named amongst the subs. I still think that however poorly Robinson has been playing, it was a significant risk to choose an international novice such as Scott Carson. He's a great player and all but he lacks international experience, I would rather pick David James than Carson. James has been doing pretty great with Portsmouth.

Carson did...ok? He made some mistakes but in an important game like this, every step and every move you make counts.

The highlights for the three lions came when the manager brought in the man, the legend - David Beckham. He has great passing accuracy and killer freekicks and he supplied the cross that enabled Crouch to score amongst the other passes that he made during the duration of the match.

That Brazilian born dude who plays for Croatia -Eduardo Da Silva- was great. Of course he is, he's playing with Arsenal.

hmm...We'll just have to look forward to Euro 08 without England in it. Everyone, together now - Bye England......

Save the sharks

Things are still buzzing around with Hayden Panettiere and her mission to solve the dolphins. I thought it was great for her to be doing that. Let us not forget though that the sharks are of equal importance as the dolphins. Thousands and thousands of sharks are killed each year just to supply the demand for shark's fin.
Shark's fin soup... I used to always look forward to having this delicacy when I was a whole lot younger. I am very glad to be able to say that I no longer take it, I have stopped for quite a while now. It has been years since I last had it and I don't plan on taking it in the future. I am dead serious about this.

The reason as to why I stopped consuming SFS is because the practice of 'finning' of sharks to make this particular soup is really shocking. Pictures are worth a thousand words so here are some pictures.

1. Sharks are killed, 2. Fins are taken out of them, 3. Sharks (dead) are thrown into the sea

REMEMBER: When the buying stops, the killing does too

City lights

We went out today to the city and the lights were beautiful. Yes, lights in the spirit of celebrating christmas or so to say. My stepdad has got the pics so I'll be posting them up here when I get them...ahh, my stepdad is a nice person. Yeah, he can be really mean when he feels like it. He's okay but I can clearly see that he's not too keen on things when it comes to my 2 elder brothers. I pity them actually, I feel that life is quite unfair for them. I don't want to be treated nicely...well, not nice but okay...while my elder brothers have to get through with things in their own time. I just hope that whatever it is, my elder brothers won't hate me because I love them both...although sometimes I do get mad with their habits, deep down inside I truly love them even when they are down in their bad times. I guess it's what you call unconditional love or brotherly-sisterly love.

PROTON PM5

I got the pictures of the Proton concept car from email forwards and I'd have to say that it certainly gets my vote. Yes, you could say whatever you want about Malaysia, that it's not advanced, the car sucks and all that...but I'm telling you my friend, we are getting there. We are getting better day by day.

What's that I hear coming out from your mouth? WOW? Yes, indeed it is a 'wow' factor. A toast for the development of cars in Malaysia.

P/S: By the way, just in case you're wondering on what my favourite car is...so far, it's the VW new beetle. It rocks my socks off.

Xootr

I am very into my kick scooter or my kick board as some of you may say it. I've had an aluminium china-made ones for years. I would say it has been more than 5 years...definetely more than that. It's a bit rusty and the wheels squeek but so far, it still runs. I am thinking of getting one but money is pretty hard around here so I'll just have to window shop. At first I looked into the Razor and the go-ped ones, they were impressive but then I came across a xootr. It's beautiful, functional and damn, I wish I could have one too. I like the MG ones, they have a sleek figure that makes the razor scooters look like a toy. Go figure xootr.

The good thing about this is the company ships worldwide..even to Malaysia...DUH! worldwide! hehehe. The cons to it is the price of it including the shipping. It will probably cost me $300 to get the Mg ones and then transport them here. More or less like an ipod nano 2nd gen. Damn, it's so sad that I have a nano 2nd generation but not the xootr.

My dad bought for me my ipod...God bless his soul because for being such a shrewd man, he bought me an ipod. I was very surprised and in a way touched by his actions. If only I had discovered the xootr then, I would have opted to get MG Xootr rather than the ipod. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to find ways to get some paypal money. If only there was a way to busk online, I'd sign up for it. lol. Any takers for being my audience - paying audience. hahaha...

Oh baby, oh baby. Very sexy in every sense...I WANT ONE!!!

Blogvertise 1

Insurance, in law and in economics, is being defined as a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of losses under certain conditions.

I feel the need of getting an insurance after my studies. http://www.advantagetermlife.com/ is one place that I would consider getting my insurance from but unfortunately I'm over here in Malaysia so that is out of the option.

Why http://www.advantagetermlife.com/ ? Well...it seems to have a good, simple site that is widely informational and very organized too. This makes life much more easier as it's very easy to browse through this site, gone were the days of confusion as to where to find specific informations.

You could get insurance quotes for smokers, key man and also second to die among the other types of insurance provided by this particular service provider. Top choice, I' d say.

Do not waste more time, head on over to http://www.advantagetermlife.com/ and go get yourself an insurance. Getting insurance online is the best option for busy people as you could do it all from the comfort of your home, or office.

Good news

This is really exciting. Clixsense is one of the best paid-to-browse or click on ads. I got a payment...and the referral program is awesome too. Woot!

I'm back to the blogging scene and being the broke student that I am, I decided to try out http://www.blogvertise.com/. I guess I'll have the best of both world with http://www.blogvertise.com/. I could blog and at the same time being paid doing the things that I love - writing (to a certain extent)

Folks, this is the way to really maximize the capabilities of your blog....can't wait for the first assignment or whatever it is called. This is getting really exciting...well...yeah...sort of

Pretentious

I am very worried about my family. We might seem happy on the outside but on the inside it seems like there's this pretentious theme going on. I pretend not to know but deep down I wish that I had not known about it.

Look what I found

Jane and Arlene are outside their nursing home, having a drink and a smoke, when it starts to rain. Jane pulls out a condom, cuts off the end, puts i t over her cigarette, and continues smoking.

Arlene: What in the hell is that?

Jane: A condom. This way my cigarette doesn't get wet.

Arlene: Where did you get it?

Jane: You can get them at any pharmacy.

The next day, Arlene hobbles herself into the local pharmacy and announces to the pharmacist that she wants a box of condoms.

The pharmacist, obviously embarrassed, looks at her kind of strangely (she is after all, over 80 years of age), but very delicately asks what brand of condom she prefers.

"Doesn't matter Sonny, as long as it fits on a CAMEL."

The pharmacist fainted

Car affection

I love my car. Sure, some days I imagine owning a VW new beetle or a mercedes, even a BMW but then reality strikes when I see my car. It's what it is. It's a Perodua Kelisa, it's small, cosy and it functions so that's good enough for me. I get to places with it and I thank my dad for giving me his car which I call 'Little Kopu'

It's a good day to be a Malaysian

U Rock Mini Guitar MP3 Player

I found this nifty little gadget on the internet.

"An MP3 player that is not only a guitar, but is as small as your pinky. Its an MP3 that is fit for a smurf or just one of those mythical characters in those story books. This handle little MP3 player features 1GB storage, MP3 and WMA playback support, with tiny guitar pick and speaker which functions as a portable speaker. It goes for $101.59. You can be the judge whether or not it’s worth it." Quoted from www.techfresh.net

I love it. I love the idea of it but unfortunately I think it's much too expensive for me but nevertheless, I still think it's a great idea. If anyone buys this, tell me how the sound is like...if its decent or not.

aphrosidiac

We went out for dinner today and by 'we' I meant me and my family. I had some oysters and they were yummy.

...and I heard that oysters is an aphrosidiac. O.O <------that's me and my wide opened eyes

This has to be read and passed on. It is very funny. It's too funny to not post...enjoy....

I was due for an appointment with the gynaecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had beenrescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am.

I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already are around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.

I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?" I didn't respond. After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal. Some shopping, cleaning, cooking. After school when my 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mommy, where's my washcloth?"
I told her to get another one from the cupboard. She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it."

I am NEVER going back to that doctor, EVER!

Jailed mobster makes baby from behind bars

I got this article from reuters. I thought it was something quite special and sweet (to a certain extent) Have a look...

NAPLES (Reuters) - One of Italy's most infamous mobsters has fathered a daughter more than two decades after being jailed for life without the right to conjugal visits.

The miracle of sorts is thanks to a legal battle that allowed Raffaele Cutolo, a former boss of the Naples-based Camorra crime organization, the right to father a child through artificial insemination.

It was a first for Italy, where mob bosses are expected to serve "hard time" once they are brought to justice.

"I'll die in prison. My last wish is to give my wife a child," Cutolo told newspaper La Repubblica last year.

Cutolo married his wife, appropriately named "Immacolata" or "Immaculate" in prison in 1983, but the two never consummated the marriage, according to news reports.

Tuesday, at a Naples hospital, she delivered a baby girl named Denise. Mother and daughter are healthy.

Cutolo is currently serving multiple life sentences for murder. He was married before and fathered a son, who died in a gangland shoot-out in the 1990s at the age of 25.
Immacolata, asked about her daughter's future, said Denise would lead a life far from the Camorra.

"I want her to never even hear that word pronounced, because it is synonymous with pain for everybody," she told La Repubblica

The engineering of cooking

Have an analytical mind? Like to cook?

I recently came across an interesting website/blog while trying to look for meat lasagna recipes. The website is http://www.cookingforengineers.com/

Go check it out. It's a step-by-step instruction along with illustrations. It's also very handy especially to those with analytical mind. There are quite a lot of recipes too ranging from mini hamburgers to beef stroganoff.

It's definitely worth the visit so go take a peek at the site.

Cook me not

I always thought that the one talent that I have is cooking. I enjoy watching those cooking shows such as Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson & Floyd to name a few.

...Apparently things are not meant to be.

My cooking is really bad. I do eat them....ALONE because no one in my family is willing to be the 'victim'. I eat them and then I tell the others it's really great and that they are missing out on things but the truth is, it's not that great at all. Yes, I am indeed criticizing my own cooking.

I guess it's not my time yet to shine in cooking. hahahaha. It will come eventually.

locked and loaded

I went out one fine evening and guess what I found...

The iPhone...and yes, the original AND UNLOCKED ones.

The reason as to why I am excited about it is because the iPhones are not supposed to be out in the Asian market yet.
hmm...people nowadays...are damn smart!

oh and by the way, I was captivated the second I saw the iPhone. It was lovely, very solid, very elegant looking and much like the LG Prada...the only downside to it was the price tag that comes along with it. It is for sale at a whoping RM2600++. I saw two iPhones and both of them have different prices. The earlier one I saw was about RM3000 and the second one I saw was about RM2600.
One word..'wow'
